Our Story
KD Quality Coding and Consulting was founded in 2017 by Karie Newberry. It was built by clinicians who coded and reviewed home health charts themselves, and the way we work comes from that: every chart reviewed twice, by credentialed people, inside the agency's own system.
We work only for home health agencies, with the people who run them: owners, administrators and clinical directors. Our core service is the complete chart: coding, OASIS QA and the full plan of care, finished and locked in the agency's EMR.

Every coded chart gets a second, full review by a different credentialed reviewer before it is returned.

Your Clinician Decides.
Each recommendation goes to your clinician with the reason behind it. Your clinician signs off on every change.
A Named Team Lead.
Every client has a named team lead as their contact. The team lead oversees the review work and locks the OASIS.
Inside Your EMR.
We work only inside your EMR, once an agreement is in place. Nothing leaves your system.
Credentialed People.
Credentials on the team: HCS-D, COS-C and HCS-O. We work to the CMS OASIS Guidance Manual and the ICD-10-CM Official Guidelines for Coding and Reporting.

Founder
Karie founded KD Quality Coding and Consulting in 2017. A clinician, Karie leads coding quality across the team and works directly with the agencies we serve.
Built in Oklahoma.
Oklahoma agencies have been under Medicare's Review Choice Demonstration since December 1, 2023. We know what pre-claim review asks of a chart, because our charts are reviewed before they go out.
